Matt Love founded Epoch Realty Company in 2009. He has twenty-five years of transactional and operating experience in Bay Area real estate, seventeen of them as a principal. His track record is concentrated in entitlement-driven repositioning, heavy value-add, and structured joint ventures across multiple asset classes including mixed-use, office, multifamily, and digital infrastructure.

Before founding Epoch, Matt was Senior Vice President at Foster Enterprises, where he oversaw investment and development activities and structured joint venture equity. Prior to that he practiced corporate, real estate, and securities law at Cooley LLP and Carr McClellan, serving as outside counsel on acquisitions, dispositions, financing, multi-party joint ventures, and entitlements.

Matt holds a J.D. from UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) and a B.A. from the University of Nevada, Reno, and is a licensed California real estate broker. Before college, he served six years in the United States Marine Corps in ground intelligence, including Desert Storm, Task Force Grizzly, and Joint Task Force Six, and as an embassy security team leader in Africa and Europe under the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service.

Matt lives in San Mateo, where he and his wife of more than 25 years raised their four children. When not living and breathing real estate, he can be found mountain biking, skiing, dirt biking, and boating across the Western U.S.
